21: Buscad a Jehová

This week we met new people, dropped others, and....met with the familia Mejia again!! I was so happy to see them, they havent been to church in a long time because their son has been sick and homebound, but yesterday they told us they are ready to get married, so hoping I get to see that and their baptisms in my time here.

We had an interesting experience with an investigator named Isis. She is such a great person, she receives us, gives us food, turns on the air conditioning, we are like her friends. She has family members who are members of the church so we thought she could really be a golden investigator. We had a few lessons and she understood everything, but just yesterday we watched parts of The Restoration with her and she told us "this is great and I love having you guys over, but Im happy in my church and I dont want to change with way I worship". And we were really sad. What did we do wrong? Did we not testify loud enough? Were our scriptures not clear enough? No. We do everything we can, we pray as hard as we can, but Isis never had the real intent that Moroni talks about in the end of the Book Of Mormon. We did our part, and are sad that she doesnt want to receive the gospel, but she needed to have the desire to change.

I gave a talk this week in church about that, having a desire, and the importance of the Book of Mormon. So many people say "Im waiting for the Lord to give me the desire, or inspire me to go to church again". That drives me insane. We search our own desire, the Lord does not tell us, "you can follow me next week or maybe next year". NO! We search him now! We feel the desire to come to know our Savior Jesus Christ, and we act. We got to church. We read the Book of Mormon. We pray. We repent.

The end of this change is in just 3 weeks, and I will be so sad if I have to leave this zone. It has been a challenge, but I love the people, the area, the other missionaries, the members, everything. But, Ill go where you want me to go dear Lord!
