Hope you all had a great week in the cold while I am here in 80° paradise.
So the food here might kill me. It is the best thing in the entire world but seriously I don't remember what it feels like to be hungry. One night after tons of food all day they give us the taco bowls that were LITERALLY BIGGER THAN JUPITER and we ate them all and I felt like I could have died. But other than that it has been great! Also whenever they have horchata or mango, those are gone before you even walk into the cafeteria. Also, we get ice cream at lunch and the Best Ice Cream In The CCM is the strawberry cheesecake ice cream sandwich and I took the last one the other day and there were approximately 15 people mad at me. They are gold.
All of the Latinos are apparently supposed to learn English throughout their missions so some of them have already started and it kills me. We walked down the stairs one day and one Hermana ran up to us and said "HIIIII SEEESTER!!! WHAZZUP!". Literally dead. But it is fun to help them out, we love doing it because they help us so much with Spanish.
We have deportes or sports every morning and that is literally what saves me. I need an energy release so bad, a lot of times throughout the day I'll make my companions go outside and memorize while run laps around the parking lot so I can refocus. Every P-day afternoon we have deportes for 4 hours and we all go outside and play volleyball the whole time and it is so fun.
Speaking of which, during volleyball this week one elder broke his leg and one broke his pinky. And guess who it was who broke his pinky. THE ONLY OTHER PIANIST IN THE CCM so I will be playing the piano for every meeting until I die.
This Sunday our district is singing in Sacrament Meeting! Singing "Mas Cerca Dios de Ti" or Nearer my God to Thee for those of you who still only speak the lesser language. I am in charge of it and our district honestly does not have a lot of musical capability but we are trying and I love it.
We watch old devotionals all the time and yesterday was the best yet. It was Elder Cook and he and his wife talked about the hymn "Ill go where you want me to go" and how this is where we are supposed to be right now. That really resonated with me. I love the Lord, and if He needs me to be here, I will be here. If he needs me to learn Spanish, I will learn Spanish. He takes those who feel unqualified and qualifies them. I am so grateful He trusts me enough to serve a mission and preach the gospel here in Central America.
Hasta luego! Love you all!
